Colonel Annata Rae Sullivan is the Commander, 937th Training Group, Fort Sam Houston, Texas. As group commander, she has the overall responsibility of providing medical service and medical readiness training for 15,000 students annually at Fort Sam Houston, three operating locations, one detachment, and 15 clinical sites throughout the United States. She leads 456 Air Force staff responsible for training 156 resident and mobile courses, and symposia. She oversees the national accreditation and certification of 10 of the group's courses.
Colonel Sullivan was born in McCook, Nebraska. She graduated from the University of Nebraska with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing in 1988; from the Uniformed Services University of Healthcare Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland with a Master of Science Degree in Nursing in 2001; and from Air War College at Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama in 2011 with a Master of Science Degree in Strategic Studies.
Colonel Sullivan is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner and a three time squadron commander. She was Commander of the 7th Medical Operations Squadron, concurrently serving as Chief Nurse and Deputy Group Commander for the 7th Medical Group; Commander of the 455th Expeditionary Medical Operations Squadron at the Joint Theatre Hospital, Bagram Afghanistan; and Commander of the 48th Inpatient Squadron at Royal Air Force Lakenheath, England.
Colonel Sullivan is married to Maj (Ret) Michael (Mike) J. Sullivan.
