COLONEL GREGORY J. REESE
Colonel Gregory J. Reese is commander of the 37th Training Group, Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. He is responsible for professional and technical training for more than 39,000 military and civilians in the armed forces, international community, and other Federal agencies. Training subjects include security forces, combat arms, recruiting, cryptographic equipment maintenance, services, TEMPEST, safety, logistics, contracting, pararescue, combat controller, Tactical Air Control Party, and the enlisted aircrew undergraduate course. The 37th Training Group is also the sole training agency for Federal and Department of Defense military working dogs and handlers. The group has more than 1,600 personnel, 180 facilities, and equipment valued at more than $100 million.
Colonel Reese graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, CO, in 1990 and served in numerous installation, training, and staff assignments in the Security Forces career field. In addition to commanding three deployed and two garrison squadrons, he served as an executive officer on the Air Combat Command Staff, Langley AFB, Va., as well as the Chief of Base Defense Policy at Headquarters Air Force, Washington, D.C. While assigned to the Air Mobility Warfare Center, Fort Dix, N.J., he was responsible for the Air Force's Phoenix Raven Certification Course as well as leading Air Mobility Command's expeditionary combat support training under the Phoenix Readiness Course, which later evolved into Eagle Flag. He is a graduate of Air Mobility Command's Advanced Study of Air Mobility as well as the National War College.
