CHIEF MASTER SERGEANT DAVID W. MONTANO

Chief Montano serves as the 937th Training Group Superintendent. He is the primary adviser to the Group Commander on all issues regarding the welfare, readiness, morale, and proper utilization/development of their enlisted force. Chief Montano's career began as a Basic Medic, working in Clinics and Emergency Rooms for 10 years. The next four years were spent instructing combat medicine while assigned at Ft Sam Houston TX. Following those challenging duties, he spent the next seven years jumping out of airplanes, providing medical support as an Independent Duty Medical Technician with the 820th Security Forces Group's Contingency Response Team. He then served as the Superintendent for the 65th Medical Group, Lajes Field, Azores, Squadron Superintendent for the 95th Medical Operations Squadron, Edwards AFB, and Squadron Superintendent for the 383d Training Squadron, Sheppard AFB. Most recently his assignment as the Superintendent for the 882d Training Group (882 TRG) at Sheppard AFB, Texas required him to relocate and begin final preparations for the move of over 400 permanent party personnel to Ft Sam Houston, Texas. Chief Montano is married to the former Melissa Pulley and they have three children, Diane, Daniel and Derek.
