Chief Master Sergeant Carol Sligh is the
Superintendent, Defense Language Institute English Language Center, 37th Training Wing, Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, TX. She serves as an advisor to the Commandant and plays an integral role in the effective employment, operations and training, professional development and welfare of over 1,200 enlisted personnel, civilians and international military students from over 115 countries. Additionally, CMSgt Sligh coordinates with numerous military leaders, professional military organizations and community partners to support DLIELC men and women. She is also the JBSA-Lackland Education & Training (3S2) Functional. As a Training Functional Manager, she leads, mentors, and provides direction for 33 enlisted Education and Training Managers on training issues, promotions, career opportunities, and recognition programs.

CMSgt Sligh grew up in Afton, Wyoming, and initially entered the Air Force in January 1988. From 1994 to 1999 she served in the Air Force Reserve Component until returning to active duty in September 1999. She has had assignments in several career fields to include Security Forces, Medical Services, Military Training, and Education and Training.
