Lorelei Gomez

Lorelei Gomez is the 637th Training Support Squadron director, 637th Training Group, also known as the Defense Language Institute English Language Center (DLIELC), at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas. Gomez is responsible for providing customer service support to over 600 personnel and 1,8000 students in the areas of Logistics and Information Technology while serving as an advisory body to the 637 TRG Commander on all issues dealing with strategic planning, processes and procedures and a liaison to mission partners.

Gomez entered the Air Force in 1998 after receiving her commission from the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Course program at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. She spent 12 years on active duty, with four assignments working directly with F-16 Falcons and F-15E Vipers. As a master aircraft maintainer, she has served as flight commander, squadron maintenance officer, maintenance supervisor, maintenance operations officer, and was an instructor for the Aircraft Maintenance and Munitions Officer Course. In 2011 she transferred to the 136th Airlift Wing Texas Air National Guard as a full-time Aircraft Maintenance Officer. Gomez has deployed numerous times in support of Operations SOUTHERN WATCH, IRAQI FREEDOM, ENDURING FREEDOM and CORONET OAK. Prior to her current position, the colonel was the 136th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron Maintenance Commander at NAS JRB Fort Worth, Texas.
