Chief Master Sergeant Maurice "Mo" Muro

Chief Master Sgt. Maurice “Mo” Muro is the Senior Enlisted Leader for the Inter-American Air Forces Academy, Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas.  He is the Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Commandant and provides consultative leadership on all matters of alignment and effective utilization of assigned personnel, military readiness, morale and welfare, professional development, and academy operations.  Additionally, Muro is responsible for leading a selective group of US and foreign forces that provide technical training and professional education to international military organizations, national police, and governmental agencies from 21 partner nations. Furthermore, he guides multi-role teams of Airmen from 16 specialties that conduct international engagements and Theater Security Cooperation throughout the United States Northern and Southern Commands.  These efforts directly advance United States national security and foreign policy interests by building capacity of allied forces through the delivery of 1,068 training courses and events annually. 

Chief Master Sgt. Muro has a diverse background that includes leadership duties in the Air Force Presidential Honor Guard, Cyber Defense and Pararescue operations.  He has deployed numerous times in support of Operations ENDURING FREEDOM, RESOLUTE SUPPORT, INHERENT RESOLVE, COMBINED JOINT TASK FORCE HORN of AFRICA, NEW DAWN, FREEDOMS’ SENTINEL, and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization’s RESOLUTE SUPPORT mission.
