JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-LACKLAND, Texas – The 37th Training Support Squadron Faculty Development will host an “EdTech Thursday” Zoom webinar on using the Universal Design for Learning framework.

The webinar, “Using Universal Design for Learning to Increase Engagement and Learning,” is scheduled 11 a.m. to noon CDT Aug. 12, and features Dr. Amanda Bastoni, Research Scientist, CAST, Inc.

Universal Design for Learning is a framework to improve and optimize teaching and learning for all people based on scientific insights into how humans learn. CAST, Inc., created the framework and it remains one of their core levers of change to help make learning inclusive and transformative for everyone.

This workshop will focus on how educators can use the UDL framework to proactively design learning environments that will increase engagement, retention, and skill development. Participants will be introduced to the UDL framework, hear stories from the field, and leave with resources and ideas they can use immediately in any learning environment. This program will run for 60 minutes followed by a 30-minute question and answer session where audience members can dive into specific strategies, share additional resources, and discuss the role UDL can play in preparing learners to excel in the Air Force.
