Col. Jason Janaros, 37th Training Wing commander, presents a Fiesta medal to 2019 Fiesta Royalty, Sal Barbaro as the celebrated El Rey Feo LXXI, April 19, 2019, at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas. The full-scale Basic Military Training Graduation Parade is the only military graduation incorporated into Fiesta San Antonio, the city's 10-day celebration to honor the memory of the heroes of the Alamo and the Battle of San Jacinto. Over the past century, Fiesta has grown into a celebration of San Antonio's rich and diverse cultures. Military representatives from throughout San Antonio participate in receptions, parades, pilgrimages and memorials.
