Annual Thanksgiving tradition for Lackland trainees returns in modified format
The Operation Home Cooking tradition was canceled in 2020 due to COVID-19, and all trainees ate their Thanksgiving meal at their on-base dining facility, as shown here at the 322nd Training Squadron. In 2021, the holiday tradition returns in a modified format, with two Basic Military Training squadrons participating. Artifacts from the Tuskegee Airman exhibit are displayed for visitors to view in the USAF Airman Heritage Training Complex, Aug. 10, at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas. The museum's primary mission is to educate our Airmen on the history of the Air Force with particular emphasis on JBSA-Lackland. The secondary purpose is to educate, train, inspire and serve as a recruiting tool for the numerous civilian visitors of the facility.
