    En marzo del 2020, cuando la nación comenzó a dar órdenes de cuarentena debido a la pandemia del Coronavirus 2019, la Academia Interamericana de las Fuerzas Aéreas, que forja los lazos de amistad internacional y la cooperación en materia de seguridad a través de la educación y capacitación, coordino para que todos sus estudiantes internacionales regresaran a sus países de origen. A pesar de la reubicación, IAAFA continuó ofreciendo cursos de aprendizaje a distancia facilitados por programas de videoconferencia y gracias a esto la Clase 2020 Alpha se graduó el 15 de mayo del 2020 a través de una ceremonia de graduación virtual.

    In March 2020, when the nation started shelter-in-place orders due to the ongoing Coronavirus Disease 2019 pandemic, the Inter-American Air Forces Academy, which forges international friendship and security cooperations through education and training, coordinated for all of their international students to return to their home countries. Despite relocations, IAAFA got back up and running with distance learning courses facilitated by videoconferencing software and because of that IAAFA’s Alpha Class of 2020 graduated May 15, 2020 via a virtual graduation ceremony.

    Our Gateway Wing has the high honor of being deemed Mission Essential.  We are the largest training wing in the Air Force, responsible for building Airmen and strengthening the partnerships we need to compete, deter, and win.  We are home to the Air Force’s only enlisted Basic Military Training (737 TRG), the largest & most diverse Technical Training Group (37 TRG), two significant international/security cooperation missions (IAAFA & DLI), and the DoD Executive Agent for Military Working Dogs & English Language Training.  We are the Gateway to the Air Force, and in many respects, the Gateway to the Americas.  Our wing remains absolutely vital to renew the force and underwrites our ability to defend the nation and deliver air and space power anytime, anyplace.
