The 637th Training Group, also known as the Defense Language Institute English Language Center, is the leader in English language training for the Department of Defense. The "Gateway to America," builds security cooperation capability through English language training and cultural immersion for more the 3,500 students annually worldwide. 

The Defense English Language Program provides English language training to international military and civilian personnel in addition to the U.S. Army and U.S. Coast Guard pre-Basic Combat Training trainees. By fostering English language proficiency on the DLIELC campus and worldwide, we strengthen alliances, nurture new and aspiring partnerships, and engage in meaningful regional activities through enhanced interoperability.
